Dalma - Launching a Pet Insurance Player

Dalma is a rapidly emerging player on the French pet Insurance market. Their goal is to build a “new generation” solution, focusing on the simplicity and transparency of their insurance product, and providing a seamless and digital experience for both the subscription and claims client experience.
Dalma’s co-founders, Alban de Préville and Raphaël Sadaka, are experienced entrepreneurs from the FoodTech industry (ex - Frichti). The company has raised a first round of funding late 2020.
Driven by their thirst for innovation and an unquenchable desire to change the game, they chose Seyna as strategic partner to launch their business.
Animated by a strong will to bring something radically innovative to the market, Dalma came to Seyna with specific instructions and expectations:
- Co-constructing a truly differentiated value proposition, tailored to their customers’ needs, as opposed to another “standard” offer as can be seen on the market
- Maintaining a highly competitive price range that would give them a head start in gaining market share as a new-comer in the space but which would also provide for a smooth integration of insurance into a more extensive package of services
- Giving them the flexibility they need, including on pricing levels, to capitalise on the data gathered through their UX and marketing analytics
Seyna stood out through its very collaborative approach in co-building the product. Its flexibility and strong market acumen were undeniable assets in the successful launch of the venture.
In order to meet Dalma’s expectations in terms of price granularity and autonomous pricing setting, Seyna used its flexible pricing algorithm which would adapt to any combination of guarantees. This algorithm takes into account a wide set of parameters, which include the coverage levels but also the animal’s breed and age. As a result, no less than 20 000 prices were generated, giving Dalma the highest level of product customisation on the market.
In addition to the above, Seyna helped Dalma acquire the required knowledge through training and tools on a wide array of topics, including regulatory matters.
Sharing Dalma’s strong bias for flexibility and an ambition to modernise current practices on the market, Seyna proved flexible and reactive in addressing the product modifications and partner requirements along the way.
