Seyna strengthens its data foundations

Product Updates is our quarterly newsletter to keep you up to date with the latest developments at Seyna. This quarter, Seyna is strengthening its data infrastructure!

product updates first quarter of 2026

For years, the challenge wasn’t a lack of data: it was not being able to trust it.

Scripts piling up. Reconciliations eating up half of every steering committee. Regulatory changes forcing weeks of manual rework.

The data was there: but it arrived too late, too fragmented to steer with confidence.

This quarter, Seyna has put the final bricks in place of an architecture that changes everything. Not a new interface, not a flashy feature, something deeper: an infrastructure that makes your portfolio data reliable from day one, whatever the regulatory complexity.

Here is what this means, concretely, for you as brokers.

🗑️ We deleted hundreds of scripts.

A few months ago, the Data Integration team made a radical decision: delete hundreds of integration scripts, and replace them with a platform built to last.

This is a deep overhaul of how Seyna processes, controls, and ensures the reliability of broker data.

🧨 Why the scripts had to go

Scripts have one quality: they solve a problem fast. But they have a fundamental flaw: they cannot support a reliable system at scale.

In practice, each script is code that should be tested individually to be trustworthy. When the target format changes, every script must be updated one by one. When a function changes, same thing.

The result: technical debt that accumulates, transformations whose reliability cannot be guaranteed, and a team spending its time fixing rather than building.

🏗️ What we built instead

We replaced the scripts with a platform built on one simple principle: every data transformation is verifiable, traceable, and centrally tested: once for all products, not product by product.

In practice:

A formatting error in a broker’s data no longer propagates silently to the steering committee. It is detected, logged, and resolved at the source.

When a business rule changes, it is updated in one place and applied everywhere instantly.

🧑💼 What this changes for brokers, right now

The most visible sign of this change? Your steering committees with Seyna

Previously, a portion of these meetings could be spent reconciling data. Today, that question simply doesn’t arise.

The time saved is spent on what truly matters: steering your business, analysing performance, and building together.

⚡ A regulatory change integrated in under a week

At the end of 2025, the French Social Security Financing Act introduced a new exceptional levy of 2.05% on 2026 health premiums, on top of the existing FPMT contribution (0.8%).

At most insurers, this type of change means manual rework, intermediate files, or late adjustments to financial reports.

🚀 At Seyna, the integration took less than a week.

Both contributions are now calculated directly within our datastore, on the granular data of individual health products, and are automatically reflected across all analyses and financial exports.

📊 Immediately consistent profitability reporting

These contributions are now natively integrated across:

  • Product profitability analyses
  • Profit and loss statements
  • Cohort analyses
  • FP&A and accounting exports

Finance and Actuarial teams now work directly on complete data, with no external rework required.

 🏁  Results

A regulatory change integrated:

  • Within a few days
  • Across all granular data (gross and ceded),
  • Immediately visible across all financial reporting.

Less rework. Less misalignment between teams. And above all, a product steering capability that stays reliable even when regulations change.

🧭 Conclusion

These two developments are not minor updates.

They reflect a conviction Seyna has held from the start: an insurer that does not control its data cannot steer effectively.

This quarter, we have made that real once more: adapting to regulatory changes, improving our steering committees, and making life easier for Finance and Actuarial teams.

See you in three months for the next update!
