Seyna appoints Nicolas Foo as CFO

Seyna announces the appointment of Nicolas Foo, former deputy-CFO at Direct Assurance (AXA GROUP), as the insurtech accelerates and multiplies its development projects. Certified as a risk carrier by the French regulatory just a year ago, the insurance platform sets out to become the industry leader.

This hire comes at a time of ambitious developments for Seyna and for the launch of its insurance platform. After a first round of funding of 14 million € end of 2019 (Eurazeo, Global Founders Capital, FSJ, Allianz), Seyna proved its model in 2020 with a European record of premiums for a 1st year of sales (2.7 million € in premium within 12 months of launch).

Seyna’s current developments include :

- launch the tech tools of its insurance platform - on top of creating insurance products and carrying risk, Seyna develops all the necessary tools to help brokers, merchants and reinsurers run an insurance business

- rapid revenue growth - strong commercial wins have been announced since the beginning of 2021. Seyna's growth is sustained in the breakage and theft, pet insurance, rental insurance, affinity motor and  cancellation verticals. To build its leadership position in these verticals, additional hires were made in Seyna's sales team this quarter

- structured expansion into new verticales - Seyna operates in 5  P&C insurance  verticals, and sets out to bring its services to all P&C risks. This expansion was methodically planned, with the opening of new verticals one by one, following a defined playbook

- building of a diverse and experienced team - as their latest recruitment of Nicolas Foo illustrates, Seyna is investing heavily in the quality of its talent, which will be key to sustaining such growth

“What attracted me to Seyna is the efficiency of its insurance platform model.” shares Nicolas. “By leveraging cutting-edge technologies and mastering the risk carrier role, Seyna is putting together a set of services for brokers which will enable us to build the next generation of insurance leaders!”

Stephen Leguillon, Seyna’s CEO, adds : “The whole Seyna team is thrilled to have Nicolas onboard as CFO. Nicolas is an experienced financial executive recognized for his leadership skills. Attracting top talents, and  continuing to reinforce Seyna’s leadership, will help us hold our course as we scale. We're only getting started!”
